Great place to train dogs off leash. Lots of room for them to run off energy and you can see where they are. Walking is a little rough off the paths and there is no fence, so your dog needs to be fairly well trained if you take off the leash.
If you have bird dogs, this is a great place to train, or just let them loose to roam to get some energy out. Nothing fancy here, just a big field with some mowed paths. The brush gets thick at times, but roads and grounds knocks them down regularly. I had a Wirehaired Pointing Griffon who loved the thicket. And, follow the path to a nice sized pond to the south east. Cool place for pooch, and good place to clear your head.
A nice place for a short walk or if you are up to it a long walk on the path next to the river.
Easy to be around dog owners and dogs. Our dog gets along w them all and you don't have to use a leash, but we take one in case we need it.
