Dr. Brendan M. Mcguire, MD

David Keel

I am doing this review under my husband's name. My name is Rhonda Keel. While my husband was in ICU at UAB Dr. McGuire came by for the first 2 weeks to see David. The last week it was another Dr. Every morning he came in he told me the straight up facts. The facts that I could understand. Never giving me false hope and that is what I appreciated the most. He really cared and always told me to take care of me so that if or when he made it home I would be the best version of myself to take care of him. The worst happened on September 22nd and that is when my precious David passed away. I did know this though. When he passed it wasn't because they didn't try.

Dr. McGuire was my husband's physician during his liver transplant and following treatment. Dr..McGuire was the most thorough and supportive physician possible. His excellent treatment and incredible support got us through some very difficult times. We felt like family to Dr. McGuire and will always remember his care and kindness.

My husband started seeing Dr.Mcguire in 2011, he was diagnosed with NACH,( NONALCHOLIC CIRRHOSIS ). Dr mcguire was so pleasant, understanding, sympathetic, and most of all easy to talk to. He explained everything on my level, making sure I didnt leave unsure about something. He did and still is going above and beyond to make sure my husband is doing good. My husband had his liver transplant October 9 2015, he has doc appointments every six months, and does outside labs every month. My husband started on 27 pills a day after his transplant and is now down to 6 pills everyday 3 in the morning and 3 at night. Every promise dr McGuire made to me and my family he kept. In my eyes dr mcguire is a godsend.i pray that all doctors will get to his way of thinking and caring about their patients

Dr.cGuire had me at "I'm not an artist but I'll do my best". (He's a professional artist). He explained to me what was happening to me and how to fix it. I've been sick a year and lost 70+lbs. To say the least, driving 4 1/2 hours was the right thing to do. I wish he had been my dr. from the beginning. I pray the other dr.s will listen to him and help me instead of brushing his diagnosis off. To anyone who has been as sick as I have been, please go to Dr. McGuire FIRST!
